Spring is just around the corner!

Next meeting is Thursday Dec 4th, 7pm at the community center, spread the word!

The goal is to put a shovel in the ground in spring of 2009!

WATER: We are working with the Department of Public Utilities to waive the fee to bring water to the site, and with James River Air to install a backflow preventer and spigots. Goal is to do this for under $3,000.
FENCING: We are working with Parks & Rec to finalize the dimensions of the garden, and the design of the fence and gates.
COMPOST: Working on developing a way to create a community compost system, with input from Department of Environmental Quality
FUNDRAISING: We need to raise about $5,000 to pay for basic garden building materials & supplies. If you can donate, please hit the “Donate Now” button (look to the right), and specify “Humphry Calder Community Garden”.

Rock on!
