Creating a healthier Richmond takes hard work, fertile land and financial resources. Our efforts to engage, empower and educate the urban core about healthy food requires intensive training, upkeep of demonstration sites like our urban farm and the necessary materials to work the land. Your donations help us teach families about healthy food choices; train urban farmers for employment; and create community centers around our farm stand and gardens. Here are some examples of what your donation can provide:
$10 = Seeds to grow healthy food
$50 = Materials to build a compost bin and collect local food waste
$150 = Sponsor a child for our summer programs
$250 = Funding for an 8×12’ raised garden bed
$500 = Underwrite a workshop so we can teach our neighbors about healthy food
$2,000 = Cost of a hoop house to grow fresh greens over the winter
$5,000 = Underwrite our farmer training program so that our neighbors can learn new job skills
$15,000 = Start up costs for an urban farm which can create 1 job and provide 50,000 pounds of healthy food
