Got Time? Help Tricycle Gardens keep growing!

Right now we are knee deep in the dirt, planning and planting for the 2011 growing season and we would like to invite you to join us in our efforts.  Tricycle Gardens needs the support of motivated, hard working individuals (of all ages!) interested in bringing  agriculture, nutrition education and healthy food access to Richmond’s urban core.  Ongoing volunteer opportunities are listed below.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities:

Greenhouse at Bryan Park
We currently need dedicated individuals with a bit of a “green thumb” to help nurture and transplant seedlings at our greenhouse.  Opportunities are available Monday & Thursday mornings and Tuesday & Friday afternoons.  For additional information, email volunteer@tricyclegardens.org

9th & B Urban Farm
Volunteers are needed Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm to assist our Farm Manager, Josh, with daily gardening tasks at our 1/2-acre urban farm located at 9th and Bainbridge Streets in Manchester.  All work will be done outdoors so please dress appropriately and bring water.  No need to RSVP, just stop by and get dirty!

Got Time?  Own a lawn mower?  If so, we have  a job for you.  Please contact our Farm Manager, Josh, at josh@tricyclegardens.org to find out how you can help us maintain the aesthetics of Richmond’s first urban farm!

Looking for a different type of volunteer opportunity?  Click here:  http://tricyclegardens.org/programs/category/volunteer/ for volunteer workdays at our new Eco-Learning Lab / HQ, the Science Museum of Virginia, Church Hill orchards and more!

As the summer months approach more opportunties to get your hands dirty will become available.  A group of committed individuals will be needed to help hydrate the Farm and Green Acre (located at the Science Museum of VA).  Stay tuned for details!  Thank you for your patience as we work alongside mother nature.
