The Saturday workday at the Science Museum has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict with other Earth Day related events, but you can still come out and join us on Sunday!
Are you feeling inspired by spring? Interested in showcasing your green thumb around Earth Day? Join Tricycle Gardens on Saturday, April 23 at the Edible Forest Garden at the Science Museum to spread some love! Spring is here and in following with our permaculture design methods we are ready to add some of the nitrogen fixers, dynamic accumulators, mulch and insectary plants to our corner of the Green Acre. Based on design principles from Toby Hemenway’s book, Gaia’s Garden and the works of Permaculture guru, Dave Jacke, we hope to model the sustainable methods of permaculture and support our fruit trees and shrubs with beneficial plants. Come on out and get dirty!
The Green Acre garden plot is located behind the domed building of the Science Museum off Broad Street. Heading W on Broad Street, take a right on DMV drive and head towards Leigh Street. Follow blue signs for recycling center. Take a left into the parking lot before the stoplight at Leigh Street and drive straight towards the wooden fence. The Green Acre will be in front of you. Please bring your own gloves!
