Urban Farm Workday

Join Tricycle Gardens & HandsOn Greater Richmond for a productive day of hands-on work at our urban farm – learn new skills, meet new friends, and get a little dirty! Activities can include farm irrigation, compost management, pruning and weeding in our herb & flower garden, harvesting crops, maintaining crops that have been planted, weed maintenance, and seed transplanting.

The produce from the farm goes directly back into our community through our weekly farm stand in Church Hill. Together we can work together to continue to grow healthy food, healthy communities and a healthy economy!

Volunteers should wear clothes they can get dirty in and bring garden/work gloves. This is a family-friendly opportunity!

We’ve all made gardening mistakes even when our intentions are for the best. Some slip-up’s are easily remedied, some take years and lots of money to put right and others result in a complete loss. Knowing how to garden correctly in the first place saves time, money, and keeps the garden healthy and looking good. Take a visual tour through some of the most frequently made mistakes in the garden. And, learn how to achieve your gardening goals without making these costly flubs in the first place. From pruning, to weeding to mulching and more discover how to make gardening easy on yourself – and even easier on the eyes!
