Tricycle Gardens has launched four community gardens – which means we have helped community groups develop the resources and volunteer structure needed to design, plant, maintain and sustain their gardens for years of productive growing potential.
These are allotment style gardens where members “rent” a small plot of land. More than 100 people participate in growing activities – interacting with their neighbors, beautifying their communities and growing food for themselves and their friends. Current project locations include: Jefferson Avenue in Union Hill, Carver neighborhood, Humphrey Calder Community Center and Chimborazo Playground Park in Church Hill. For more information on how you can get involved, please call or email the garden contact for the desired location (contact information listed below). Please note that there are limited number of plots at each location and often times there is little or no vacancy. In this instance, the garden contact will add you to their wait list.
This is the first garden developed by Tricycle Gardens! It has 15 beds and was the catalyst for our organization’s community garden initiative.
